On Reaching Critical Mass...

It has finally happened. I've reached Critical Mass in my niche. What I mean is that the body of knowledge in my head has finally reached the point at which it boils over and spatters all over every topic of conversation I encounter. I am an Internet Marketing junkie, you see, and now EVERYTHING to me is a web business waiting to happen.

Virtually everyone I speak with these days generates a rapid fire chain of events in my head. Before they can stop me, I pour out a flood of ideas about how they can take the subject at hand and build a Niche Market web business around it.

I've suddenly had about six ideas for new web businesses of my own in the past month, and twice I've launched myself out of bed and scrambled for a notepad to jot down lightning bolt ideas that threatened to scorch me, they were so powerful.

I've had to turn away clients for the first time because I have too many!

Yesterday, I was marveling at this process, and it dawned on me that it didn't happen by accident. It came about because for the past three years I have swallowed every chewy morsel of Internet and Direct Marketing information I could get my sticky hands on.

I've read every book or course that so much as whispers of Internet Marketing. I've downloaded 200 software programs and test-driven them. Heck, I've even registered a few Shareware titles (who else do you know that does that ;-)

I've paid for the Private Access Websites, tried online and offline marketing services, exchanged emails with the giants in the field, gone to Industry Conferences, lurked and contributed to Newsgroups, Chat Rooms, and Forums, and researched and written my own newsletters for going on three years.

It's no wonder my little brain is all swollen. And my web business is really taking off!

Is yours?

Whatever your own special niche is, if you expect to turn it into your own custom automated, cash-printing, global-reaching, fame-and-fortune generating web business, you'd better know your stuff. Down in your bones.

There's only ONE way you can develop the kind of brain-busting expertise in a subject that really makes you stand out in a crowd...

It comes from living, breathing, eating, drinking, and dreaming your chosen subject matter day in and day out.

Buy every book in your niche, invest in course materials, and find one expert you really admire and buy everything in his or her chain of products (if your expert doesn't have a chain of products yet, find one who does!)

TIP: Study the PROCESS of moving customers through a chain of products!

(Does the publisher of the newsletter you're reading this in have a product related to your field of study? If you think enough to read the newsletter, then buy the product!)

Come on, what are you waiting for? Do it now! Your expertise awaits you.

Apply what you learn to leveraging your own business. Then as your expertise blossoms, apply what you know to other businesses in the same field. Find a joint venture partner, collaborate on a few projects.

Finally, step past the boundaries of your field and explore the richness of the universe of ideas. Adapt the organizing principles, the sinews of your expertise to other niches.

Before you know it...Critical Mass. Idea-Fusion. Suddenly, everything you touch turns to gold.

And that's when it really gets fun, let me assure you.

Oh, and there is no substitute. Expertise costs blood to develop. So charge accordingly once you have it.
