In my line of work, one of the most frequent questions I hear is.. from someone asking for advice about marketing their web sites. "After I pay $300.00 to someone to create a web site, how do I get it noticed?" It's one thing to put a web site up for your business, register it with a few search engines, hoping people will find it. But it's completely another thing to professionally market and promote your web site! You need to find ways to bring people to your mountain. It takes strategy, planning, and advertising. More and more people now-a-days are making their living on the Internet; it is going to grow bigger and with tougher competition. So you want and need to GET NOTICED! Marketing your web site is a huge, complicated, and tedious process. Making sure it is done properly, means giving it high profile.. to be seen by many people as possible. The KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS is in the marketing and advertising! HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR SITE 1) Register your web site with the Internet Search Engines (there are virtually hundreds of them). Search Engines are the Yellow Pages of the Internet. People use search engines for information, products, companies, employment, and business opportunities on the net. Search Engines are the way people find your web site if they do not know your web address. 2) Get FREE Advertising. Trade web site addresses with others. Advertise in FREE Classifieds. Just go to a search engine and do a search for CLASSIFIEDS. You will find thousands of Classified sites to advertise on. You will need to advertise to find out what is working best for you. KEY your ads with a keyword for them to reply back to you. This way you will know which of your ads, and in which classifieds your ads are working best. 3) Use LinkExchange. Create a banner for yourself and join LinkExchange and they will put a rotating banner on your web site which will help bring people to your web site. Such as Business Opportunities, Classifieds, Newsletter, FREE, employment, etc. 2) Headlines. This is important. Be sure to use catchy headlines that will attract people's attention and make them want to keep reading. Such as "NEW business opportunity," "FREE marketing information," "WEEKLY PAYCHECKS," etc. 3) Keep your ads short and to the point. People do not want to read alot of information before they get to the real information. Keep them short and grab people's attention. 4) Do not exaggerate or hype up your ad with things like EARN $10,000 per month. Everyone knows these things are almost impossible! PLACES TO ADVERTISE
WHAT INFORMATION SHOULD YOU PUT ON YOUR WEB SITE 1) Free Stuff.. We all love to get something for nothing! Give something away. 2) Make sure the information at the top of your web site is EYE CATCHING you want to keep your visitor at your site reading your short brief information for as long as you possibly can. They are going to decide within a few seconds whether they are going to stay at your web site or move on to hundreds of other web sites. 3) Try to make your web site interesting and fun. Try to be different and exciting. 4) Add new and free stuff to your web site as often as possible. You want to keep visitor's coming back. 5) Create your web site like it is a magazine, you would not buy the same magazine month after month. 6) Keep your web site FRESH, NEW and UPDATED. 7) Add graphics to your web site, but not large ones or too many, as then they it take too long to load. 9) The most important thing however is to avoid the temptation to publish HYPE. There is already so much of it on the Internet that to even try use it to attract customer's is probably the worse thing you could do. You have to realize that people are not stupid, and do not find this appealing. It can be called an insult to somone's intelligence to expect them to believe.. "You can earn $10,000 per month with this opportunity" This does not attract people! It turns them off! It makes them question your honesty and integrity.
