Failing Internet marketers may be doing all the right things but achieving nothing at all! Here's Why?
There are so many of you out there who have joined count less marketing programs and spent small fortunes in search of the one program that is going to "cash in" for you. I know all about you because not even one year ago, I was you.
I would join an Internet program just because the sales copy made it sound so easy and promising. Great sales copy offers guarantees, bonuses and all sorts of great promises. So I would buy a membership in the program and put in one week of solid hard work.
Nothing would happen!
Of course it can't be me that is the problem, right? It has to be the program or the way that it was set up. It is not doing everything that it promised. In particular it is not making me my fortune. So finally my motivation dies and I end up slowly forgetting about the program and get swept off my feet by the next promising sales letter and inside my head I scream out:
"I am going to get rich with this one!" . . . Yeah right!
So what is happening with you? Why are you losing motivation instead of reaping the benefits of hard work?
Now that I finally am really making my own small fortune on the Internet I can answer that question with all of the experience of a failing Internet marketer, and now as a successful Internet marketer with a failing following!
I currently run my own affiliate program that is incredible successful and sells very well when the hits are coming my way. However, many of my affiliate arsenal of 675 people are doing the same thing you do and that I did when I first joined a business opportunity!
They are losing hope and motivation. Basically here is what's happening to them and you and why it is happening to so many of you.
It happens to all of us!
This lack of experience and lack of sales is a very natural part of Internet marketing. It is actually a very natural part of all aspects of life.
Could you ride a bike on your first try?
Could you read a book on your first try?
Could you walk, run, fly a kite, make a sandwich, eat without making a mess, draw, write, sing, dance, talk, or even wipe your own bum on your first try?
The plain and only answer is no. None of you could do any of those things well on your first try. Come to think of it, you probably couldn't do many of those things even on your 2nd, 5th, 10th, or 50th attempts. What I am getting at here is really quite simple.
It takes time to learn how to do anything well and Internet marketing is no exception to that rule. In fact, with all of the intricacies involved with Internet marketing, it is possible that it will take you even longer to learn how to do it well.
Now the reason that you Internet marketers don't make any money, even though you have the potential to be making it, is the same reason as I didn't make any money when I started.
You work hard for a short period of time and see no results and quit the program and move on without gaining the valuable experience that the program has to offer. What you may not realize is that you really have learned something. You may have learned how to place a classified ad, or you may have learned the importance of good headlines. Whatever it is that you took out of that particular marketing program is of the most importance. That piece of knowledge is one of many building blocks that you need to construct a solid foundation and eventually a successful career in Internet marketing.
Each program, each new task, and each new trial brings with it one piece of a whole part. And as Stephen R Covey says, "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts."
What that means is that if you put two or more things together, they will benefit you more than each on it's own. The perfect example of this is regular table salt! The two elements of salt are Sodium and Chloride (NaCl). Each of those things on their own, if eaten, will kill you but together they add life and taste to your food!
Internet marketing is no different and takes a while to learn to do well because of that fact. I didn't receive my first paycheck for two whole years before I started making money. My first paycheck was something like $30 but I had to work two years before I knew enough of the "little things" to make that money.
Today I can make $400 - $500 per day on a good day. I am still far from making the millions that Cory Rudl makes but that is only because I don't have enough building blocks yet.
So for all of you potentially successful Internet marketers out there who are grinding away but getting nowhere, here are a few tips to keep in mind when you are working on your businesses.
- 1.) It takes time to be successful with any business. Don't quit anything that you join until you feel that you have exhausted the knowledge that you will take out of it.
- 2.) Discouragement is bound to happen. Combat it with hard work.
- 3.) Laziness is your number one enemy!
- 4.) If something is not working, quit doing it and try something else! I don't mean find a new program, I mean try a different marketing approach to the program you are in right now!
- 5.) You will eventually succeed!
Good luck everyone!
